Pistons Sneak Past Young Wolves

What should have been a big win, turned into work last night, in Auburn Hills.

The game was a back and fourth affair in the first half, with both teams struggling to gain an advantaged on one another. Detroit didn’t gain significant momentum until the fourth quarter.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who had a career high in Points against the Pelicans February 1st, finished the game with just 2 points, 5 assist and 5 rebounds. According to Twitter, he had himself a game on the other end of the floor though:

Both Marcus Morris and Jon Leuer had career highs in points, with 36 and 24 respectively. Andre Drummond had 12 points 18 rebounds, Tobias contributed 14 points off the bench, and Reggie Jackson had 10 points and 8 assist before exiting the game, after running into KCP late in the game and hurting his knee.

Zach Lavine had 20 points, before going down with an apparent ankle injury in the fourth quarter. Karl Anthony-Towns had 24 points and 11 rebounds and this nifty move:

and Andrew Wiggins finished with 21 points going 8 for 21.

The Detroit Pistons biggest lead was 13. When that lead was built, it felt as though that momentum was carrying over to blow out status. Then there was a late fourth quarter collapse, but Detroit managed to squeak it out for the victory. Improving to 23-27, which boost them into 8th place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Next up, is the division rival, Indiana Pacers. The Pacers are 27-22, on a five game winning streak, and sitting in second place in the Central Division. Sixth place overall.

There will be a #PistonsTalk Vlog before game time to get you all ready for tonights showdown.✌🏿
